Allied Health - Psychologist
The Role
Psychologists employed within the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia undertake a primarily clinical role under the primary health care stream of the Service. This involves accompanying clinic flights and seeing clients face to face. The sessions are supplemented by telephone and video-conference follow-up.
Other aspects of the role include:

Staff training in mental health issues

Delivering mental health sessions at health promotion field days

Supporting staff following traumatic events

Liaising with relevant external mental health agencies

Participating as an active member of the RFDS multi-disciplinary team
Qualifications - Essential
- Degree in Psychology
- Eligible for registration as a Psychologist in State of employment
Desirable:
- Post-graduate qualifications in Psychology
Experience - Essential
- Post-graduate experience of at least 2 years in the delivery of a psychology service
Desirable:
- Ability to effectively work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
- Experience in rural/remote and Indigenous health
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
