Max 'The Story Teller'
Rev. Max Griffiths M.B.E. worked in the Australian outback during a time of dramatic change and upheaval.
From 1965 he served as a member of the Board of the Australian Inland Mission founded by the Rev. John Flynn (Flynn of the Inland) and made extensive visits to the outback.
In 1974 he was appointed Superintendent of the AIM (third in line to the Rev. John Flynn) and became heavily involved in developing medical, education and social services to new isolated mining towns and remote Aboriginal communities.
In 1979 he was awarded the MBE for services to the outback. Max Griffiths is a graduate in Arts, Commerce and Divinity from Melbourne University. He is a former Minister of the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches.
Rev. John Flynn – Flynn of the Inland – A Presbyterian minister, founded the Australian Inland Mission (AIM), a number of outback hospitals and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (1928 – 2008).
