RFDS Central Operations began in 1939 in Alice Springs and we now also operate from bases in Adelaide, Port Augusta, Ayers Rock Medical Centre. Central Operations covers South Australia, the southern part of the Northern Territory and on occasions, parts of Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales – more than 2.3 million square kilometres of land.
