Fundraising
efforts are greatly supported by a unique relationship the RFDS shares
with its volunteer groups in the regional and metropolitan areas. The
Flying Doctor is always present in their lives and fundraising events
for the Service are a natural part of their social calendar. Visit
an outback town and you are likely to find a race meeting, a ball, a
raffle or even a donation tin raising money for the Flying Doctor –
they know it’s their lifeline. In Adelaide you may find our support
group organising a wine and cheese tasting day. As
the RFDS has expanded so too has its support network. Today most major towns and capital cities have loyal groups
of volunteers fundraising and promoting the Flying Doctor in their
communities. Fundraising
events are varied and include; Race Days, Art exhibitions, Luncheons,
Card days, Wine bottling, Quiz nights, Wine and Cheese Tasting
evenings, Concerts and much more. If you would like to become involved in an Auxiliary or Support Group please contact the following Secretaries:
Office / Administration Volunteers The Public Relations & Marketing Department, based in Adelaide, has a variety of opportunities available for Volunteers to assist with fundraising activities.
Volunteers often assist with activities such as
administration (e.g. filing, photocopying, laminating, mail
sorting,
data entry and
merchandise) as well as preparation for major events.
Volunteers are kept busy especially during our
